  1. Start in a high plank position with your hands directly under your shoulders and your body in a straight line.
  2. Drive one knee toward your chest as far as possible, then quickly switch legs by bringing the first leg back and driving the other knee forward.
  3. Continue alternating legs at a fast pace while keeping your hips level and your core tight.

Tips

  • Keep your hips at the same height as your shoulders throughout the movement, forming a straight line from head to heels rather than letting them rise or sag.
  • Press firmly through both hands and keep your shoulders stacked directly over your wrists to maintain a stable base as your legs alternate.
  • Pull each knee in toward your chest as far as your range of motion allows before switching, rather than cutting the movement short to maintain speed.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the hips pike upward as the pace increases, breaking the straight-line position established at the start.
  • Rotating the hips from side to side as each knee drives forward, so the pelvis twists rather than staying square to the floor.
