  1. Lie on your side and prop yourself up on your forearm, ensuring your elbow is directly beneath your shoulder.
  2. Lift your hips off the ground until your body forms a straight line from head to feet.
  3. Hold this position for the desired duration while keeping your core engaged.

Tips

  • Stack your feet on top of each other and press the outer edge of your bottom foot firmly into the floor to help keep your hips lifted and your body in a straight line.
  • Position your supporting elbow directly under your shoulder before lifting, and keep it there throughout the hold.
  • Draw your top hip slightly forward so your pelvis stays square rather than rotating toward the floor.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the hips sag toward the floor during the hold, which breaks the straight line from head to feet.
  • Rotating the torso so the chest opens toward the ceiling instead of facing straight ahead.
