Sit in the machine with your back firmly against the pad. Adjust the seat so the handles align with your upper chest/collarbone area.
Press the handles up and forward until your arms are fully extended.
Slowly return the handles with control to the starting position.
Tips
Before pressing, adjust the seat so the handles sit at your upper chest or collarbone height, which keeps the pressing angle aligned with the incline movement.
Keep your back in contact with the pad throughout the set so your torso stays at a consistent angle on every repetition.
Lower the handles with a controlled speed until you reach a comfortable end range, then press again without bouncing or pausing abruptly.
Common mistakes
Allowing the back to lift away from the pad during the press changes your torso angle and alters the direction of the movement from rep to rep.
Stopping the press short of full arm extension on every repetition means the movement is consistently incomplete.
